Our Animal Protection Association SOS Bilbao was founded in 2003 and, since then, we have worked very hard to save the lives of those that matter to few. Our goal has always been to raise awareness, sensitize and educate society about animal rights, avoiding mistreatment and abandonment.

We also fight to change people’s mentality regarding the animals that are in the collection centers, managing their adoption and always promoting responsible ownership.

SAUL – I came home in January, but there was no roscón left. I had never seen a TV or set foot in Casco Viejo, but now we go there oftenSAUL – I like to climb into bed, fill everything with hair and fill my family with cuddles. They tell me I’m not photogenic at all. SAUL – I love to drink water and steal some potato chips from the floor… I can’t resist.SAUL – At first they thought they could take me here and there drinking txakolis without me protesting. Yes, of course, take me to the mountains! SAUL – I love going to the mountains almost every day and I go on my own discovering the world.

7vidas Bizkaia was born from the concern of 4 members to do a different work in the world of animals. We are people with extensive experience that come from working in other shelters and valuing the ways we have to help we have chosen to do it in positive, through education, therapies and professional feline behavior.

Our shelter is based on foster homes that help us to get sick cats out of the street in order to give them the necessary help. We also manage stray colonies and apply the CES protocol (Catch-Neuter-Release) thanks to the collaboration of our volunteers.

The cats in our care come from the street or abandoned by individuals, and our mission is to help them find a good home and to control the cat colonies we manage, sterilizing them to avoid unwanted litters and overpopulation.

We know it is a difficult job and unfortunately we will receive cases that will break our hearts, but we want to focus our work positively, because from all the bad things we can get something worthwhile.

We are an animal shelter in Bizkaia that works to promote adoptions of homeless dogs and cats that need a second chance and to make society aware of the situation of mistreatment that many animals suffer in our immediate environment, insisting on the work of awareness and education to finally achieve a society in which animals are treated with dignity and respect.

Since the creation of our Association the objective has always been the same: to put an end to the abandonment and mistreatment of animals and to achieve it we have worked hard to incorporate improvements and transparency in the management of the procedures and also in the management of our shelters and the collaboration with other entities so that more and more animals have the opportunity to have the life they deserve.

It is a facility equipped with two independent areas so that the cats kept there are comfortable and can play and run, as well as an area of individual cages for sick cats or cats in quarantine.
