how to train your dragon: homecoming

The Book of Dragons (Book of Dragons in English) is a DVD/Blu-ray short that comes along with the DVD of The Gift of Night Fury. It also appears on Netflix in a “pack” called Legends along with The Legend of the Dragon Breaker.

The short begins with Hiccup’s voice talking about what life was like before he trained a dragon compared to how they live their lives now. The story explains how his friends are now dragon trainers and how they learned the most interesting knowledge about the dragon world.

Bork the Brave was the first Viking with the idea of sorting dragons and is also the great-great-great-great grandfather of Mouth. Before being known as Bork the Brave, he was known as Bork the Very Very Unlucky because of the fact that everything he touched was very very unlucky. Having tried his hand at being a shepherd, blacksmith, farmer and fisherman, he could not find steady work in Berk because of his poor interactions with dragons.

Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J.

What began as an unexpected friendship between a young Viking and a fearsome dragon Night Fury has become an epic trilogy that has spanned their lives. In this new installment, Hiccup and Toothless will finally discover their true destiny: for one, to rule Berk alongside Astrid; for the other, to be the leader of his species. But along the way, they will have to test the bonds that unite them, facing the greatest threat they have ever faced… and the appearance of a female Luminous Fury.

Spin-off of the movie “How to Train Your Dragon”, which shows Hiccup’s group discovering the mysteries behind the legend of the Book of Dragons. Interestingly, some of the facts presented in this short seem to have been ignored in the rest of the franchise.

During Snoggletog’s Viking feast, all the dragons leave except Toothless who can’t do without Hiccup. When Hiccup gives Toothless an automatic tail, he flies off and now Hiccup must go through the feast without his dragon.
