In this sense, he had a great influence on the photographers around him, such as Gabriel Cualladó, Paco Gómez, Leonardo Cantero, Juan Dolcet and Fernando Gordillo, who formed with him the so-called Madrid School, among others. In spite of the style of each one of them, a certain halo of Vielba can be perceived in all of them.

Gerardo Vielba’s work is part, among others, of the collections of the MNCARS Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid, the IVAM (Valencia) and the Alcobendas Collection (Madrid).

Entré en un día de calor sofocante a finales de junio y no vi a nadie más que a una pareja de mediana edad que se besaba en un rincón… Es un lugar ideal para una cita… También es muy hermético; cuando salí ese día me pareció un Madrid ligeramente alterado del que había dejado al entrar.
